Guys , This is the step by step procedure to root your Samsung galaxy y

you just need to follow these simple steps and you can root your phone . Before proceeding to step first take backup of your important data .This method is tested many times and it was successful at each time.But you shall keep it mind that an Android phone is a strange beast. Just like a computer you cannot predict each and every device’s behavior. So, go with caution. 

Here are the simple steps to root your phone

Step 1 : Download this zip (click here to download) and copy it to your sd card .

Step 2 : Now open Settings, go to Applications then Development and check USB Debugging.

Step 3 : After this power off your phone and press VOL Up + Home + Power together simultaneously .

Step 4 : The Recovery Mode will be opened. please note that you can not use touchscreen while in recovery mode ,you have to use the Vol Up and Down buttons to navigate and the Home button to select.

so for up/down use volume up/down and to select an option press the home button.

Step 5 : In recovery mode go to "apply update from sd card" and Find the file that you just downloaded and select it.

Step 6 : Wait for few seconds, a lot of text will scroll down with some information and finally at the bottom it should say that update was successful.

Step 7 : It will take you back to the main menu. Then select "reboot phone now".

Step 8 : After you reboot, Your phone shell be rooted! Congrats!
